A digital weight sensor kit based on the HX711 24-bit ADC, capable of measuring up to 1 kg. The HX711 is designed specifically for weight scale applications, interfacing directly with a bridge sensor to deliver precise, reliable measurements via the Gravity interface.

The kit includes both the HX711 weight sensor module and a 1 kg load cell, making it easy to build a digital scale for home, laboratory, or industrial use with Arduino and other microcontrollers.

Key Features

  • HX711 24-Bit ADC – High-precision analog-to-digital converter for weight scales
  • 1 kg Range – Suitable for small-scale weighing applications
  • Selectable Gain – PGA with 32, 64, and 128 gain settings
  • Selectable Data Rate – 10 SPS or 80 SPS output
  • Wide Supply Voltage – 2.6–5.5V
  • Low Current – Less than 1.6 mA
  • Gravity Interface – Simple plug-and-play connection

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

ADC
An analogue-to-digital converter reads a changing voltage and turns it into a number the microcontroller can use. It matters when connecting analogue sensors such as light, sound, or variable-resistor sensors.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
SPS
Samples per second, meaning how many measurements the converter can make each second. Higher SPS gives faster updates, while lower SPS on this board allows higher-resolution readings.
