The Gravity Analog 20A Current Sensor measures both AC and DC current using the Hall effect, outputting a proportional analog voltage to your microcontroller. With high-voltage isolation built into the circuit design and a non-conductive acrylic base plate, it's designed for safe use in automation and power monitoring applications.

The standard Gravity 3-pin interface allows plug-and-play connection to Arduino and other compatible boards via the included analog sensor cable.

Key Features

  • AC & DC Measurement – 0 to ±20 A DC or 0 to 17 A RMS AC
  • Hall Effect Sensing – Non-contact current measurement
  • High-Voltage Isolation – Safe measurement up to 220V AC / 311V DC
  • Analog Output – Proportional voltage output via Gravity 3-pin connector
  • Safety Features – Non-conductive acrylic base plate to prevent short circuits
  • ±3% Accuracy – Suitable for monitoring and automation applications
  • Compact – 39 × 22 × 17 mm, 18 g

Specifications

  • Power Supply – 5.0V
  • DC Current Range – 0 to ±20 A
  • AC Current Range – 0 to 17 A (RMS)
  • Max Voltage Endurance – 220V AC / 311V DC
  • Relative Error – ±3%
  • Interface – Gravity PH2.0-3P
  • Dimensions – 39 × 22 × 17 mm
  • Weight – 18 g
Warning: This sensor can measure high-voltage circuits. Exercise caution when working with mains voltage. Ensure proper isolation and follow all electrical safety procedures.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

DC
DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
RMS
RMS is a way of describing the effective level of an AC signal, such as an audio output voltage. It helps compare audio output levels more meaningfully than a peak voltage number.
