The Fermion AHT20 is a high-precision, low-cost temperature and humidity sensor breakout from DFRobot. Built around an improved MEMS semiconductor capacitive humidity sensor element, it communicates over a standard I2C interface and operates across a wide 2–5 V supply range.

The sensor performs reliably across a wide temperature range of −40 °C to +85 °C, making it suitable for environmental monitoring, HVAC systems, weather stations, and data logging applications.

Key Features

  • I2C Digital Output – Simple two-wire interface at address 0x38
  • Wide Voltage Range – 2 V to 5 V DC supply
  • High Precision – ±0.3 °C temperature accuracy, ±2% RH humidity accuracy
  • Excellent Long-Term Stability – Low drift over time
  • Quick Response – Strong anti-interference performance
  • Compact Breakout – 30 mm × 20.5 mm board with standard 2.54 mm header

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

breakout
A breakout is a small circuit board that makes a tiny or hard-to-solder component easier to connect to with standard pins. It matters because this OLED module can be wired into a microcontroller project without needing to solder directly to the display’s fine contacts.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
