The Fermion AHT20 is a high-precision, low-cost temperature and humidity sensor breakout from DFRobot. Built around an improved MEMS semiconductor capacitive humidity sensor element, it communicates over a standard I2C interface and operates across a wide 2–5 V supply range.
The sensor performs reliably across a wide temperature range of −40 °C to +85 °C, making it suitable for environmental monitoring, HVAC systems, weather stations, and data logging applications.
Key Features
- I2C Digital Output – Simple two-wire interface at address 0x38
- Wide Voltage Range – 2 V to 5 V DC supply
- High Precision – ±0.3 °C temperature accuracy, ±2% RH humidity accuracy
- Excellent Long-Term Stability – Low drift over time
- Quick Response – Strong anti-interference performance
- Compact Breakout – 30 mm × 20.5 mm board with standard 2.54 mm header

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
- I2C
- I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
