A set of stackable headers designed for the Arduino Uno, Arduino Pro, and other boards using the classic (pre-R3) pin layout. These female headers sit tall enough to clear the USB-B connector, making them ideal for stacking multiple shields. The kit includes two 8-pin and two 6-pin headers — enough for one complete shield connection.

Key Features

  • Stackable Design – Female sockets on top, male pins below for stacking multiple shields
  • USB-B Clearance – Tall enough to clear the USB connector on standard Arduino boards
  • Classic Pin Layout – Fits boards using the original Arduino header layout (2× 8-pin, 2× 6-pin)

Ideal For

  • Stacking shields on Arduino Uno, Pro, and compatible boards
  • Custom shield and breakout board projects
  • Prototyping with multiple shields

Package Contents

  • 2× 8-pin stackable headers
  • 2× 6-pin stackable headers
Tip: If your board uses the Arduino R3 layout (with IOREF, SCL, and SDA pins), you'll need the R3 version of this header kit instead.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

breakout
A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
Headers
Rows of connector contacts on a fixed pitch (commonly 2.54 mm) used to link a board to a breadboard, jumper wires, or another board. They come as male pin headers and female socket headers; when a module ships with pre-soldered headers it can be used straight away, whereas bare pads require soldering the pins yourself.
Shield
An add-on board that plugs into a main controller board to give it extra features such as sensing, motor control or communication. Knowing a product supports shields helps you judge whether it can connect neatly into an existing maker-board setup.
