The Adafruit SMT Breakout PCB for 8-pin SOIC, TSSOP, or MSOP packages lets you easily prototype with surface-mount chips on standard solderless breadboards. One side accommodates an 8-pin TSSOP/MSOP footprint while the other supports 8-pin SOIC (narrow, medium, or wide), with traces routed to two rows of 0.1"-spaced through-holes.
Key Features
- Dual Footprint – Supports SOIC (narrow, medium, or wide) on one side and TSSOP/MSOP on the other
- 8-Pin Layout – Traces from each pad routed to breadboard-friendly 0.1" pitch holes
- 0.3" Row Spacing – Half-thickness PCBs with narrow row spacing for compact DIP-8 footprint

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
