The Adafruit CSI/DSI Cable Adapter Thingy converts between the 15-pin 1.0mm pitch camera/display connector found on full-size Raspberry Pi boards and the 22-pin 0.5mm pitch connector used on the Pi Zero and CM4 development boards. It handles all the pin rearranging automatically — just snap in two FPC cables and go.

Use it to connect a standard Pi Camera or DSI display to a Pi Zero or CM4, or vice versa, without worrying about pinout differences.

Key Features

  • 15-pin to 22-pin Conversion – Adapts between full-size Pi (1.0mm pitch) and Pi Zero/CM4 (0.5mm pitch) CSI/DSI connectors
  • Bi-Directional – Works for both CSI (camera) and DSI (display) connections
  • Automatic Pin Rearranging – No manual wiring needed
  • Simple Clip-In Connection – Pry connector ears, insert cable contacts facing down, push ears back

Also Available

Note: CSI/DSI interfaces are designed for short cable runs (approximately 25cm). Longer cables may work but are not guaranteed. FPC cables are not included.

Ideal For

  • Connecting Pi Camera modules to Pi Zero or CM4
  • Using DSI displays across different Pi form factors

Package Contents

  • 1× Adafruit CSI/DSI Cable Adapter Thingy

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

DSI
DSI stands for Display Serial Interface, a high-speed connection commonly used to send video data from a computer board to a display. It matters because DSI signals are not simple GPIO wires, so the cable, connector, and signal routing need to match the display interface.
FPC
FPC stands for flexible printed circuit, a flat flexible cable or connector style often used where space is tight. It matters because this breakout needs the correct pin count and pitch FPC cable to connect reliably to the display or high-speed interface.
