This 7" TFT touchscreen connects directly to the Raspberry Pi via the DSI display interface, delivering 800×480 resolution with capacitive 5-point touch input. The display is powered entirely from the Raspberry Pi — no external power supply required.
Mounting holes on the back of the screen allow you to attach a Raspberry Pi directly to the display for a compact, integrated setup. A hardware backlight adjustment potentiometer on the rear lets you fine-tune brightness.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- DSI
- DSI stands for Display Serial Interface, a high-speed connection commonly used to send video data from a computer board to a display. It matters because DSI signals are not simple GPIO wires, so the cable, connector, and signal routing need to match the display interface.
- FPC
- FPC stands for flexible printed circuit, a thin flat flexible cable or connector style often used where space is tight or some movement is needed, commonly for displays, cameras and other high-density connections. Connecting to an FPC connector generally needs a matching cable with the correct pin count, pitch and contact orientation.
- HMI
- HMI stands for Human-Machine Interface, meaning the screen, buttons or controls a person uses to interact with a device. Describing something as suited to HMI use suggests it is intended for user-facing applications such as control panels, dashboards or instrument displays.
- M2.5
- A metric screw thread size with a 2.5 mm nominal diameter. It matters for mounting because screws, standoffs, and holes must use the same size to fit securely without damaging the board.
- Multi-touch
- Multi-touch means the touchscreen can detect more than one finger contact at the same time. This matters for interfaces that use gestures such as pinch-to-zoom, two-finger scrolling, or on-screen controls used together.
- potentiometer
- A variable resistor usually turned with a knob or shaft to create an adjustable electrical signal. It is often used for inputs such as volume, brightness or position, so it helps beginners learn how a microcontroller reads changing values.
- TFT
- A thin-film transistor display is a common type of colour LCD used for graphics screens. Knowing a product is for TFTs helps you check that the driver board matches the display’s connector, resolution, backlight, and signalling method.
