The TFA300-L is a compact single-point LiDAR sensor designed for fast, precise distance measurement on dynamic platforms such as drones and optoelectronic systems. It uses Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser ranging to provide rapid updates, with an adjustable measurement frequency up to 10,000Hz.
With detection up to 290m on high-reflectivity targets and a lightweight ~10.5g body, it is well suited to UAV obstacle avoidance, stable altitude control and intelligent target tracking where size, weight and power matter.
Integration is supported through UART and CAN interfaces via a JST GH1.25mm-7PIN connector. DroneCAN protocol support is available via the provided SDK, helping it fit into modern flight controller ecosystems. The package includes the TFA300-L LiDAR sensor and a connecting cable.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- 3.3V TTL
- 3.3V TTL means the serial logic signals use 3.3 volt levels rather than 5 volts. This matters because connecting it directly to a 5V-only signal can damage the module or cause unreliable communication unless level shifting is used.
- 5G
- A mobile network standard used for high-speed wireless data links. If a project uses a 5G gateway, its power system must be able to supply enough current reliably for outdoor or remote operation.
- LiDAR
- A sensing method that uses laser light to measure distance and build a 3D picture of the surroundings. It matters for robotics and autonomous systems because LiDAR data can help with mapping, navigation and obstacle detection.
- Matter
- A smart home connectivity standard designed to let devices work across different ecosystems. It matters if you want a project to integrate more easily with platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, or other Matter-compatible systems.
- UART
- UART is a simple serial connection that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, often labelled TX and RX. It matters because this module is designed to replace a wired UART cable with a wireless link while keeping the same serial data format.
- UAV
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, such as a drone or autonomous aircraft. The term matters here because high-accuracy GNSS and RTK are often used when a flying robot needs precise position information.
