The Skywriter HAT uses electrical near-field 3D sensing to detect hand gestures and track position in three dimensions above the board. Powered by the Microchip MGC3130 sensor on a 4-layer PCB, it provides full X, Y, and Z positional data along with gesture recognition for flicks and taps — all within a range of up to 5 cm.
Since sensing works through non-conductive materials, you can mount the Skywriter HAT behind acrylic, fabric, or other enclosure panels and completely hide it inside your project.
