This industrial-grade water electrical conductivity sensor combines the probe and housing into a single integrated unit for straightforward installation and reliable measurement. It uses an electrode constant of K=1 and can output conductivity, salinity, TDS and temperature data for multi-parameter water quality monitoring.
Communication is via RS485 using the standard ModBus-RTU protocol, making it suitable for PLCs, industrial gateways, Arduino microcontrollers and DFRobot LoRaWAN projects. DFRobot provides tutorials for connecting the sensor to Arduino development boards and LoRaWAN hardware so you can set up a test environment and monitor data in real time.
A built-in temperature sensor provides automatic temperature compensation, helping maintain accurate readings as conditions change. The sensor is factory calibrated and ready to use, with a 1413μS/cm conductivity calibration solution included for optimising accuracy after prolonged use via register settings.
The package includes the RS485 Water Quality Electrical Conductivity Sensor (K=1) x1, 5m sensor cable x1, 1413μS/cm conductivity calibration solution 100ml x1, black protective mesh x1 and cable ties x2.
Features:
- 4-in-1 Multi-Parameter Output: Built-in algorithms allow you to read Electrical Conductivity (1~2000 μS/cm), Salinity (0~1000 ppm), TDS (0~1100 ppm), and Temperature simultaneously.
- Industrial-Grade Durability: The integrated housing and 5-meter cable boast a true IP68 waterproof rating, perfect for continuous, long-term submersion.
- Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC): A built-in temperature sensor automatically adjusts readings (-20°C~+60°C range), guaranteeing pinpoint accuracy regardless of environmental fluctuations.
- Effortless IoT Integration: Operates on a wide 10~30V DC power supply and utilizes RS485 (ModBus-RTU), making it plug-and-play ready for PLCs, industrial gateways, and Arduino microcontrollers.
- Out-of-the-Box Ready: Factory calibrated for immediate use. We also include a free 1413μS/cm calibration solution, allowing you to easily optimize accuracy via simple register settings down the road.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- IoT
- Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
- Modbus
- Modbus is an industrial communication protocol used by many meters, sensors, PLCs, and automation devices. Modbus support matters because it can make the controller easier to integrate with existing industrial equipment.
- ModBus-RTU
- ModBus-RTU is a common industrial protocol for sending sensor readings and control commands over serial links such as RS485. Knowing the sensor uses ModBus-RTU helps you choose software libraries, data loggers, or controllers that can request and interpret its readings.
- ppm
- ppm means parts per million, a common way to express very small gas concentrations in air. For CO₂ sensors, the ppm range tells you what levels the sensor can measure, such as normal indoor air through to poorly ventilated spaces.
- RS485
- RS485 is a robust wired serial communication standard often used in factories, farms, and buildings where cables may be long or electrically noisy. It matters because it lets this controller connect to industrial sensors, meters, and control equipment over longer distances than typical hobby serial wiring.
- Temperature compensation
- Temperature compensation means the sensor adjusts its readings to reduce errors caused by changes in water temperature. This matters for field monitoring because ponds, rivers, and tanks can vary in temperature throughout the day and across seasons.
