This binocular depth camera module is designed for the RDK X5 development board, giving AI and robotics projects stereo vision for depth perception, navigation and 3D environment sensing.

It uses dual cameras with depth algorithms accelerated by the RDK X5 BPU, helping offload depth computation from the main processor for responsive vision workloads such as obstacle avoidance, SLAM, gesture tracking and 3D mapping.

The module outputs over MIPI CSI-2 and is intended for the RDK X5 ecosystem. The supplier notes that cable colour may vary; if a black cable is supplied, the end marked CAM connects to the camera and the end marked RDK connects to the development board.

Features:

  • Equipped with dual SC132GS global shutter sensors
  • Combined with optimised algorithms and BPU acceleration to achieve efficient depth computation
  • Suitable for AI visual applications such as depth vision and stereo vision
  • Compatible with the RDK X5 development board

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

MIPI
MIPI is a high-speed display and camera interface often used inside phones, tablets, and embedded devices. It matters because raw MIPI displays usually need special driver hardware or software support, unlike plug-and-play HDMI screens.
