The Pololu RC Switch with Small Low-Side MOSFET converts standard hobby RC receiver outputs into simple on/off signals. It measures incoming RC pulse widths against a configurable threshold to control an integrated MOSFET, allowing you to drive small loads like LEDs, relays, or motors directly from your RC system.

A built-in flyback diode across the load outputs means you can connect inductive loads (motors, relays) without additional external components. The switch also features a learning mode for adjusting the threshold and activation direction, plus a safe-start feature to prevent unexpected activation.

Key Features

  • Low-Side MOSFET – Delivers up to 3 A at 5 V, handles load voltages up to 30 V
  • Configurable Threshold – Default ~1700 µs with ±64 µs hysteresis, adjustable via learning mode
  • Two Status Outputs – GOOD pin indicates valid RC signal (10–330 Hz, 0.5–2.5 ms), OUT pin indicates MOSFET state
  • Yellow Status LED – Visual feedback of switch state
  • Flyback Diode – Integrated protection for inductive loads
  • Safe-Start – Reduces likelihood of unexpected activation on power-up

Specifications

  • Supply Voltage (VCC) – 2.5–5.5 V
  • MOSFET Current – Up to ~3 A (at 5 V VCC)
  • Load Voltage – Up to 30 V
  • Dimensions – 0.4″ × 0.6″
  • Weight – ~0.5 g (without header pins)

Ideal For

  • Controlling LEDs, relays, or small motors from RC systems
  • Converting RC receiver outputs to digital signals for microcontrollers
  • Simple RC-activated switching applications

Package Contents

  • 1× Pololu RC Switch with Small Low-Side MOSFET
  • 1× 12-pin 0.1″ straight breakaway male header

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
