This peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing flexible silicone tubing with a rotating clover-pattern roller mechanism — the pump never directly contacts the fluid. This makes it well suited to food, beverage, gardening, and sterile applications where contamination must be avoided.
The pump is driven by a geared DC motor operating at 5–6 V. It self-primes from up to 500 mm below the fluid level and can be driven with PWM for variable flow rate control. Reversing the motor polarity reverses the flow direction. Compatible with basic transistor switching or motor driver ICs such as the L293D.
Key Features
- Peristaltic Design – Fluid stays inside the tubing; pump never contacts the liquid
- Self-Priming – Draws water from up to 500 mm below
- Reversible Flow – Swap motor polarity to change direction
- PWM Speed Control – Adjust flow rate with pulse-width modulation
- Geared DC Motor – High torque for reliable fluid movement
- Silicone Tubing Included – Pre-installed with two 500 mm extension tubes and barbed connectors
Specifications
- Operating Voltage – 5–6 V DC

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- motor driver
- An electronic circuit that lets a low-power controller switch and control a motor that needs more current than the controller pins can safely provide. Checking motor driver support matters because pumps and motors usually cannot be connected directly to a microcontroller output.
- peristaltic pump
- A pump that moves liquid by squeezing flexible tubing in a rolling motion, so the liquid only touches the inside of the tube. This matters for classroom watering projects because it can dose small amounts of water without needing the pump mechanism to be in contact with the water.
- PWM
- Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
- Torque
- A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
