This compact cube antenna from Molex is designed for GPS applications and surface mounting directly to a PCB. It covers a frequency range of 1.556GHz ~ 1.607GHz, making it suitable for embedded positioning projects where a low-profile board-mounted antenna is required.
Electrical connectivity is via SMD pads, so it can be integrated into custom PCB designs without an external antenna lead. Its right handed circular polarisation and omnidirectional radiation pattern are suited to receiving satellite signals across a broad range of orientations.
Supplier documentation includes a datasheet and mechanical drawing for layout and integration reference.

A practical choice for custom GPS receiver boards and compact positioning hardware that needs a PCB-mounted antenna solution.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- GPS
- The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
- SMD
- SMD means surface-mount device, a component style designed to be soldered directly onto the surface of a circuit board rather than through holes. SMD parts are compact and mounted flat on the board, which suits smaller and mass-produced designs.
