Maqueen Lite is a compact educational robot platform designed for use with a BBC micro:bit, making it a friendly starting point for STEAM lessons, coding clubs and home learning. It keeps the simple, playful style of micro:bit while adding a mobile robot base for experimenting with movement, sensors and graphical programming.

The robot is intended for ages 8+ and supports classroom-style activities such as line following, light interaction, motor control and obstacle-related projects. The micro:bit board and batteries are not included, so you will need to add those separately before use.

Maqueen Lite works with DFRobot's Mind+ graphical programming platform, which supports Python, Arduino and other programming environments. Source resources include a product wiki, MakeCode tutorial material, Mind+ examples and MicroPython documentation.

Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
MicroPython
A version of the Python programming language made to run on microcontrollers. It matters because it lets beginners write readable code to control LEDs, sensors, motors and displays without needing to start with lower-level languages.
PWM
Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, usually referring to an LED that can mix those three colours. It matters because controlling an RGB LED teaches how separate outputs combine to create different colours.
