The LilyTiny is a compact LilyPad board with a built-in ATtiny85 microcontroller that drives four pre-programmed LED patterns. Simply sew on four LEDs and connect a battery — no programming or main board required.
Each of the four output pads produces a different lighting effect: heartbeat pulse (pad 1), on/off blink (pad 2), breathing fade (pad 0), and random fade (pad 3). Advanced users can reprogram the ATtiny85 via the ICSP pads on the back of the board.
Key Features
- ATtiny85 Microcontroller – Pre-programmed with four LED patterns
- No Programming Required – Connect LEDs and a battery to get started
- Sewable Pads – Large conductive pads designed for sewing into textiles
- Reprogrammable – ICSP pads on the back for custom firmware
- Ultra Compact – 20 mm diameter, 0.8 mm thin PCB
LED Patterns
- Pad 0 – Breathing fade
- Pad 1 – Heartbeat pulse
- Pad 2 – On/off blink

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
- microcontroller
- A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
