The LakiBeam 1S is an industrial-grade 2D single-line pulsed Time-of-Flight (ToF) LiDAR with a 270° scanning range and up to 15 m detection distance. With 2 cm precision, an 18,000 samples/second rate, and 100K LUX strong light resistance, it delivers reliable mapping and obstacle detection both indoors and outdoors.

Compact and lightweight at just 160 g, the module features a built-in brushless motor, VCSEL laser emitter for smaller spot size and higher point cloud accuracy, and a built-in web service for easy monitoring, configuration, and OTA firmware updates. Communicates via Ethernet UDP (default) or USB.

Key Features

  • 270° Scanning Range – Wide field of view with near-zero blind spots
  • 15 m Detection Range – Up to 15 m at 70% reflectivity, 10 m at 10% reflectivity
  • ±2 cm Accuracy – Precise distance measurement
  • 18 kHz Sampling Rate – High-quality point cloud output at 10 Hz rotation
  • 100K LUX Ambient Light Resistance – Reliable indoor and outdoor operation
  • VCSEL Laser Emitter – Smaller spot size, less trailing, higher accuracy than EEL emitters
  • Built-In Web Service – Dashboard, radar settings, and OTA firmware updates via browser
  • Class 1 Eye-Safe Laser – Complies with Class 1 laser safety standards
  • IP65 Protection – Dust-tight and water-jet resistant
  • Built-In Brushless Motor – Low noise, durable, long service life

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

AGV
An AGV, or automated guided vehicle, is a mobile robot used to move materials without a human driver. This matters because controllers used in AGVs need reliable communication and industrial I/O for motors, sensors, and safety systems.
LiDAR
A sensing method that uses laser light to measure distance and build a 3D picture of the surroundings. It matters for robotics and autonomous systems because LiDAR data can help with mapping, navigation and obstacle detection.
lux
Lux is the standard unit for measuring how much light falls on a surface, similar to how a light meter reports brightness. A sensor that outputs lux gives readings that are easier to compare between rooms, outdoor conditions, and different projects.
OTA
OTA means over-the-air updating, where firmware is updated wirelessly instead of through a programming cable. It matters because you may be able to update or maintain the module after it is installed in a project.
RJ45
The common plug and socket style used for wired Ethernet network cables. If a board has an RJ45 connector, you can usually plug it into standard Ethernet cabling without making a custom connector.
Torque
A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
