This cable will let you turn a JST PH 4-pin cable port into 3 individual wires with high-quality 0.1" female sockets on the end. We're carrying these to match up with any of our boards with 'STEMMA' connectors on them such as the Hallowing or Trellis M4. Can also be used with any STEMMA breakouts! This one has socket pins, so it could be used to connet to wires or headers.

The wires are even color coded:

  • Black for GND
  • Red for V+
  • White for SDA
  • Green for SCL

Even though this is a JST PH connector, it will fit into a Seeed Grove connector and have the right matching wires as well.

We also stock a version with male plug headers on the end.

For more information about JST PH connectors, visit the JST website.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Grove
Grove is a plug-in connector ecosystem for sensors and modules that avoids soldering and jumper wires. Grove compatibility matters because it can make it quicker to add supported I2C devices, as long as the cable and voltage are suitable.
Headers
Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
JST PH
A small keyed plug-and-socket connector with 2 mm pin spacing, often used for low-power electronics connections. You need the correct JST PH cable, and its current rating limits how much power should be passed through it.
pH
A measure of how acidic or alkaline a liquid is, on a scale where 7 is neutral. For a water monitoring kit, pH tells you about water chemistry and whether the included probe matches the range and accuracy your project needs.
STEMMA
A plug-and-cable connection system used on some maker electronics boards to make wiring simpler. If a product uses STEMMA, you need the matching cable or connector type to plug it in without soldering.
