This flexible capacitive liquid level sensor detects liquid through the wall of a non-conductive container, so it does not need to touch the liquid itself. It is designed for containers with a wall thickness of less than 5 mm, making it handy for sealed tanks, pipes and other setups where a contact probe is not ideal.

The thin flexible substrate has temperature-resistant and waterproof 3M adhesive tape on the back, so it can be attached directly to suitable container surfaces. It outputs a simple digital high/low signal, with a low output when liquid is detected.

The sensor uses a 3-pin DuPont connector and suits applications such as water tank detection, beverage machines, water pipe level detection and scientific experiment test tube level detection. A DFRobot product wiki is available, and the shipping list includes one Gravity non-contact capacitive flexible liquid level sensor.

Features:

  • With light and thin design
  • Can be attached on surfaces of non-conductive container

Specifications:

  • Working Voltage: 2.5~5.5VDC
  • Working Current: 5V290uA 3V235uA
  • Output: low (liquid detected), high level(no liquid detected)

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
