Build your own rebuildable, crash-friendly quadcopter with the Flybrix LEGO Drone Kit. Everything you need to build and fly your first drone is included — no extra tools or supplies required. Get airborne in as little as 15 minutes.

The pre-programmed flight board includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, and thermometer. It runs on open-source firmware and is hackable in the Arduino development environment. Use the Flybrix Bluetooth Flight Control App (available on Google Play, Apple App Store, and Amazon Kindle Store) for suggested designs and flight control, then customise with your own LEGO bricks.

Key Features

  • LEGO Compatible – Build custom drone frames with included bricks and your own collection
  • Crash-Friendly – Rebuildable design; crashes apart instead of breaking
  • Open-Source Firmware – Hackable in the Arduino IDE
  • On-Board Sensors – Accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, and thermometer
  • SD Card Logging – Insert an SD card for "black box" flight data recording
  • Bluetooth App Control – Fly via smartphone or tablet
  • Advanced Features – Battery power reporting, sensitivity tuning, and block-based programming

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Gyroscope
A gyroscope measures rotation, such as how fast a board is turning around its X, Y, and Z axes. This matters for projects like gesture controls, balancing robots, and motion tracking where tilt or rotation changes need to be detected.
IDE
Short for Integrated Development Environment, a program used to write, run and manage code. It matters because some learners prefer a traditional coding workspace instead of a guided notebook-style lesson.
magnetometer
A sensor that measures magnetic fields, often used to work out compass direction. It matters because nearby magnets, motors, or metal objects can affect readings and may require calibration.
