A panel-mount DC current and voltage meter is a handy addition when you need to keep an eye on a system continuously, rather than grabbing a DMM for quick checks. It is useful for battery-backed projects, power supplies and other DC systems where voltage and current draw matter.
This combination meter measures up to 30V and 10A, with a red and blue digital display. Each unit is supplied pre-calibrated, and can be fine-tuned after installation using the small trimpot on the back of the device.
The thicker 2-pin wiring harness is used for the ammeter and is normally wired into the current return path to the battery or ground. The thinner 3-pin harness is for the voltmeter; its black wire is internally connected to the ammeter and may be left NC (not connected) or connected to ground.
For correct current display, connect the red wire of the ammeter to the system and the black wire of the ammeter to ground. If reversed, the system may still work, but the meter will display 0.00 because it cannot display negative values.
Features:
- Panel-mount monitoring: Handy for constantly monitoring system voltage and current.
- Battery system diagnostics: Check overall system voltage and estimate run time from instantaneous current consumption.
- Combination DC meter: Measures both DC current and voltage.
- Pre-calibrated: All units come pre-calibrated.
- Adjustable calibration: Can be further calibrated once installed using the small trimpot on the back side of the device.
- Ammeter harness: Thicker 2-pin wiring harness for current measurement.
- Voltmeter harness: Thinner 3-pin wiring harness for voltage measurement.
