This diffuse reflection infrared photoelectric switch detects opaque objects across an adjustable 0-7m range, making it useful for presence sensing in automation and access control projects.
It runs from a 6-36V power supply and provides a switching value output, with a signal indicator for real-time status feedback. Detection distance is adjusted using the onboard button: clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to reduce.
The sensor is designed for tougher installations, with waterproofing, polarity protection and short circuit protection. Typical uses include automatic car washing devices, security detection, automatic access control lever lifting and intelligent induction furniture.
Included in the package are the Diffuse Reflection Photoelectric Switch (0-7m) x1 and Screwdriver x1.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Diffuse reflection photoelectric switch
- A sensor that sends out light, usually infrared, and detects objects by seeing the light reflected back from their surface. It matters because the sensor does not need a separate reflector or receiver, but its range can depend on the object's colour, surface finish, and size.
- IP54
- An ingress protection rating meaning the enclosure has limited dust protection and is protected against water splashes from any direction. This matters because it gives a practical indication of how well the product may handle dusty or damp installations.
- IP67
- An ingress protection rating meaning the enclosure is dust-tight and can survive temporary immersion in water under specified test conditions. This matters when choosing a sensor for outdoor, wet, or wash-down environments.
- Short circuit protection
- A safety feature that helps protect the device if its output or wiring is accidentally connected in a way that causes excessive current flow. This matters in automation wiring because mistakes or damaged cables can otherwise destroy the sensor or power supply.
- Switching value output
- An output that changes between on and off states instead of reporting a measured distance or analogue signal. This matters because it is suited to detecting whether an object is present, but not for measuring exactly how far away it is.
