A multifunction air quality monitor that measures particulate matter (PM2.5), formaldehyde concentration, temperature, and humidity. It uses laser scattering to detect suspended particles in the air, an electrochemical probe for formaldehyde detection, and an integrated sensor for temperature and humidity readings.

The sensor outputs data via serial interface at 9600 bps and operates at 3.3V logic levels, making it compatible with most microcontrollers. Its six-sided shielding design provides high anti-interference performance, and the air inlet/outlet direction can be adapted to different enclosure designs.

Key Features

  • PM2.5 Detection – Laser scattering measurement for particles 0.3–10µm
  • Formaldehyde Sensor – Electrochemical probe, 0–1 mg/m³ effective range
  • Temperature Sensor – -20°C to 99°C range, ±0.5°C accuracy
  • Humidity Sensor – 0–99% range, ±2% accuracy
  • Fast Response – Total response time ≤10 seconds
  • Zero False Alarm Rate – Reliable real-time readings
  • Six-Sided Shielding – Patent structure for high anti-interference performance

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

baud
Baud is the signalling rate of a serial connection, often used as the speed setting for UART communication. Matching the baud rate matters because both connected devices must use the same setting for readable data.
particulate matter
Particulate matter means tiny particles suspended in the air, such as dust, smoke, pollen, or pollution. A sensor that measures it is useful for air-quality projects because particle levels can affect comfort and health.
PM2.5
PM2.5 refers to airborne particles with a diameter of about 2.5 micrometres or smaller. It is a common air-quality measurement because these fine particles can be breathed deep into the lungs.
