A 4×AA battery holder with a snap-on cover and built-in on/off switch. Holds four AA batteries in series, outputting a nominal 6V (alkaline) or 4.8V (NiMH), making it a convenient portable power source for 5V microcontroller projects.
With alkaline batteries, you may want to add a 1N4001 diode in series to drop the voltage from ~6V to ~5.3V for 5V-sensitive projects. NiMH rechargeables provide a naturally suitable voltage range for most 5V circuits without additional regulation.
Key Features
- On/Off Switch – Built-in slide switch for convenient power control
- Snap-On Cover – Keeps batteries secure and protected
- Series Connection – Four AA cells wired in series
- Wire Leads – Bare wire output for flexible wiring
Specifications
- Battery Type – 4× AA (alkaline or NiMH rechargeable)
- Output Voltage (Alkaline) – 6.4V (fresh) → 6V (nominal) → 4V (depleted)
- Output Voltage (NiMH) – 5.2V (charged) → 4.8V (nominal) → 4.4V (discharged)
- Output – Wire leads (no connector)
