A Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket for DIP chips of up to 28 pins and 0.3" width. The lever mechanism allows you to insert and remove chips without applying force, preventing bent or damaged pins. Lift the lever to open, drop the chip in, and push the lever down to latch it securely.

The socket can snap into an existing circuit board or IC socket designed for the chip, so you may not need to redesign your board. For example, it fits into an Arduino's ATmega socket for easy chip swapping.
