A compact distance sensor with a measurement range of 10–180 cm, featuring both UART and I2C output interfaces. It operates on 3–5 V, making it compatible with Arduino and other microcontrollers. The sensor includes high-speed auto-focus for accurate distance readings.

Key Features

  • Measurement Range – 10–180 cm
  • Output Interfaces – UART and I2C
  • Operating Voltage – 3–5 V
  • Cable – 1.0 mm pitch, 6-pin, 20 cm long
  • Auto-focus – High-speed continuous auto-focus

Arduino Connection

  • UART – Connect RXD to TXD and TXD to RXD
  • I2C – Connect to A4 (SDA) and A5 (SCL)
Note: When using UART mode, disconnect A4 and A5. Upload your Arduino sketch before connecting the module, then reconnect after upload is complete. Use one communication mode at a time (UART or I2C, not both simultaneously).

Ideal For

  • Robot obstacle detection
  • Cleaning robot navigation
  • Human body detection and proximity sensing
  • Amusement equipment and interactive installations

Package Contents

  • 1× Distance sensor module with cable

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
UART
UART is a simple serial connection that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, often labelled TX and RX. It matters because this module is designed to replace a wired UART cable with a wireless link while keeping the same serial data format.
