This double-row, 14-pin (2×7) extended male header with 0.1" (2.54mm) pitch features extra-long 22.85mm pins — significantly longer than standard headers. The extended length is useful for making connections that span greater distances or for applications requiring additional room for electrical contacts.
Originally designed for connecting expansion PCBs to the Pololu 3pi robot, this header is useful in any project where standard-length dual-row pins are too short.
Key Features
- 2×7-Pin (14 pins total) – Compact dual-row configuration
- 22.85mm Extended Pin Length – Significantly longer than standard male headers
- 0.1" (2.54mm) Pitch – Industry-standard spacing for broad compatibility
- Male Header Pins – Mates with standard dual-row female headers
Ideal For
- Board stacking with extra clearance between layers
- Expansion PCB connections requiring longer pins
- Custom connectors where standard header length is insufficient
Package Contents
- 1× 2×7-pin extended male header (22.85mm)
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Headers
- Rows of connector contacts on a fixed pitch (commonly 2.54 mm) used to link a board to a breadboard, jumper wires, or another board. They come as male pin headers and female socket headers; when a module ships with pre-soldered headers it can be used straight away, whereas bare pads require soldering the pins yourself.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
