COB LED Unicorn – A Miniature Magical Light
This glowing unicorn is crafted from COB (Chip-on-Board) LEDs, the same technology found in Edison-style LED bulbs, arranged in a whimsical design to create a bright, warm, and uniform glow. Each piece consists of dozens of micro LED diodes, bonded onto a rigid metal backing and coated in silicone for protection.
Though the LEDs are placed only on one side, the ultra-thin PCB substrate allows light to softly shine through the back as well, creating a subtle, diffused effect.
Key Features
  • Warm and uniform glow that mimics a classic tungsten filament
  • Simple 3V power requirement with LEDs wired in parallel
  • Use a current-limiting resistor to keep the current at a maximum of 100mA
  • PWM dimmable for adjustable brightness
  • Rigid design, making it perfect for miniature fantasy scenes, dioramas, dollhouses, and model displays
Easy to Use
Powering this LED unicorn is as simple as connecting 3V to both ends. The cathode (negative) side is marked with a "-" symbol on the PCB. If it does not light up, simply reverse the connection.
Compatible with Arcade Button Quick-Connect Wire Pairs - 0.11" (10 pack) for easy wiring.
A great way to add a touch of glowing magic to your next project.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
PCB
A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
PWM
Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
