A compact 5-way navigation switch that provides up, down, left, right, and centre-press (select) inputs in a single through-hole component. All five switches share a common ground pin, requiring just six connections total. The pin spacing is not quite on a standard 2.54 mm grid, but the switch can be pressed into a breadboard with a little bending.
