The Sunflower Solar Power Manager 5V is a high-efficiency solar power management module designed for 5 V solar panels. It features MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) to maximise solar panel efficiency, and supports dual charging via solar panel or USB with up to 900 mA charging current for a 3.7 V lithium battery.
The on-board DC-DC converter provides a regulated 5 V 1 A output with ON/OFF control, suitable for powering microcontrollers, sensors, and other low-power devices. Comprehensive protection functions cover battery and solar panel reverse connection, output over-temperature, over-current, and short circuit.
Key Features
- MPPT Algorithm – Constant voltage tracking maximises solar panel efficiency
- Dual Charging – Solar panel or USB input, up to 900 mA charge current
- 5 V 1 A Regulated Output – ON/OFF controllable DC-DC converter
- Comprehensive Protection – Reverse connection, over-charge, short circuit, over-current, and over-temperature
- Three-Phase Charging – Trickle charge, constant current, constant voltage
- ESD-Protected USB Connector – Robust USB input
- Low Quiescent Current – <1 mA standby draw

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
