This is a great connector for anyone doing RF work, when a right angle RP-SMA connector is required. Solder it into your PCB for a very secure mechanical connection. You've probably seen tons of these on various development boards! The four mechanical connectors also act as the RF ground.
Mates with any RP-SMA plug. Check if you have RP-SMA or SMA by looking at the middle pin of your antenna/cable and verifying it will match with this connector!

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
- RF
- RF means radio frequency, referring to signals used for wireless communication and other high-frequency electronics. A low-noise, stable power supply is important for RF circuits because power noise can affect signal quality and measurements.
- SMA
- SMA is a small threaded coaxial (RF) connector widely used to attach antennas and other radio-frequency cables. A device with SMA antenna ports needs antennas or pigtails with matching SMA connectors, or a suitable adapter, to connect to them.
