This is a simple 3-pin male right-angle header for through-hole PCB mounting. It is handy when you need pins to exit sideways from a board instead of straight up.
The header uses the standard 0.1in pin spacing, making it suitable for common breadboard and prototyping layouts that use 0.1in pitch connections.
If you do not need all three positions, the pins can be broken apart so you can use one or two pins instead.
Features:
- 3-pin male header
- Right-angle format
- PTH through-hole mounting
- Pins can be broken apart for one- or two-pin use
- 0.1in standard pin spacing
Specifications:
- Number of pins: 3
- Gender: Male
- Mounting style: PTH
- Orientation: Right angle
- Pin spacing: 0.1in standard
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
- PTH
- Plated through-hole means the pin holes are metal-lined so solder connects the pad on both sides of the board. It is useful for connectors and headers that need a strong mechanical and electrical connection.
- through-hole
- A mounting style where the component leads pass through holes in a circuit board and are soldered on the other side. Through-hole parts are often easier to handle and solder by hand, which is useful for classroom and hobby projects.
