Get soldering quickly at the bench or out in the field with this compact smart soldering iron. It reaches operating temperature in just six seconds and provides digital temperature control from 100°C to 400°C, making it suitable for delicate SMD work through to heavier wire splicing.
The iron can be powered from a high-wattage USB-C supply with PD or QC 3.0 support, or from a DC5525 barrel jack connected to a suitable DC source. An OLED display and integrated adjustment buttons make it easy to set and monitor the temperature.
PINECIL comes pre-loaded with Ralim's open-source IronOS firmware for customisation and community-driven features. The included B2 soldering tip installs quickly, and the lightweight plastic body includes a metal clip for easy handling.
Features:
- Fast heat-up: Reaches operating temperature in just six seconds.
- Digital temperature control: Adjustable from 100°C to 400°C.
- OLED display: Easy-to-read display for setting and monitoring temperature.
- Integrated adjustment buttons: Dial in the heat you need directly on the iron.
- Dual Power Options: Power the iron using either a high-wattage USB-C cable (PD and QC 3.0 supported) or a standard DC5525 barrel jack.
- Auto Standby: A built-in IMU detects motion, automatically dropping the temperature into sleep mode when you set it down to prevent burns and preserve the tip.
- Open-source firmware: Pre-loaded with Ralim's IronOS.
- Included tip: B2 soldering tip installs quickly.
- Portable body: Lightweight plastic body with a metal clip for easy handling.

Useful for electronics repair, maker projects, SMD soldering and general wiring tasks where a small, flexible soldering iron is preferred.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- BL
- BL usually stands for backlight, the light source that makes an LCD visible. Some modules let you control this pin to turn the backlight on, dim it, or save power in battery projects.
- IMU
- An Inertial Measurement Unit combines motion sensors to measure movement and orientation. It matters for asset tracking because it can detect movement, tilt, vibration, or changes in direction.
- OLED
- OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode, a display type where each pixel produces its own light. It matters because OLED screens are thin, high-contrast and easy to read for small status displays, but they can be more sensitive to image burn-in than some other display types.
- RISC-V
- An open processor architecture used inside some modern microcontroller chips. It matters because it affects the software tools, performance, and low-power features available for developing projects on the board.
- USB-C
- A modern reversible USB connector used for power and data connections. On this product it matters because it can connect directly to a computer as well as to a microcontroller project.
