Octopus Electronic Bricks, you can use them to build electronics projects just as easy as piling bricks. By using Octopus electronic bricks, you may connect Arduino / Freaduino compatible boards easily with various digital, analog and I2C/Uart interfaces. These the breadboard-less firm connection are prepared to extensive modules like poteniometers, sensors, relays, servos ... even buttons, just plug and play.

Octopus Hunt Sensor is a sensor based on TCRT5000 photoelectric sensitive element. It can sensitively detect the infrared reflected signal. Together with Arduino specific sensor shield, Hunt Sensor can be widely used in many fields, ranging from performing black and white line detection, obstacle detection , to shredding detection for fax machine or paper shredder, meter pulse data sampling and other related works Adjustable sensitivity (shown in blue digital potentiometer adjustment). Three pins electronic building blocks interface: input 5V - GND. S pin output digital voltage signal 0-1 Operating voltage: DC 5.0V

Parameter:

Power supply needs: 5V

Interface type: Analog

Pin Definition: 1-Signal 2-VCC 3-GND

Fast response and High sensitivity

Simple drive circuit

Stable and long life

Features:

Use TCRT5000 photoelectric conversion element, with a built-in infrared emitting tube and a receiving tube

Operating current for emitting tube and receiving tube was respectively 10mA, 0.1mA

Indicator: an electric signal indicator. (Find a black line, it will be on)

Quick Start

Hardware Connection

Connection note: Connect this module to the P1 port on OCTOPUS:BIT.

Programming

Code

Program links.

Results

Put this module 9mm away from the black plane, the "icon" pattern can be seen on micro:bit; 9mm away from the white plane, the "square" pattern can be seen on the micro:bit. The height can be adjusted by the sensitivity regulation controlled by the potentiometer.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
PCB
A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
potentiometer
A variable resistor usually turned with a knob or shaft to create an adjustable electrical signal. It is often used for inputs such as volume, brightness or position, so it helps beginners learn how a microcontroller reads changing values.
Shield
An add-on board that plugs into a main controller board to give it extra features such as sensing, motor control or communication. Knowing a product supports shields helps you judge whether it can connect neatly into an existing maker-board setup.
UART
UART is a simple serial connection that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, often labelled TX and RX. It matters because this module is designed to replace a wired UART cable with a wireless link while keeping the same serial data format.
