A compact 1.27 mm (0.05") pitch 2×5 mini SWD box header with a half-shroud and key-notch. A smaller alternative to full-shroud SWD headers, taking up much less board space while remaining compatible with standard 10-pin 1.27 mm IDC (SWD) cables.
Commonly found on ARM Cortex development kits, this connector is ideal for adding SWD debug and programming capabilities to compact boards. The SMT pins can also be straightened for through-hole soldering if needed.
Key Features
- 1.27 mm (0.05") Pitch – 2×5 pin configuration
- Half-Shroud Design – Keyed notch for correct cable orientation
- SMT Mounting – Surface-mount with option to straighten pins for through-hole
- Compact Footprint – Significantly smaller than full-shroud SWD headers
Ideal For
- Adding SWD debug/programming to Adafruit nRF52 Feather and similar boards
- ARM Cortex development and debugging
- Space-constrained PCB designs requiring SWD access
Package Contents
- 1× Mini SWD 10-pin SMT box header
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Headers
- Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
- SWD
- Serial Wire Debug is a two-wire programming and debugging interface used with many microcontrollers. It matters if you need low-level access to program, recover or debug the processor board connected to this carrier.
