This AI vision educational robot kit combines a Maqueen Plus V2 robot car, Gravity HUSKYLENS AI vision sensor and micro:bit V2 board into one classroom-ready robotics platform. It is designed for STEM learning, coding practice, autonomous navigation experiments and entry-level robotics competitions.

The larger chassis provides extra space for modules and expansion kits, while the onboard sensors support line tracking, obstacle avoidance, visual recognition and interactive robotics experiments. The kit includes the Maqueen Plus V2 (18650 battery) vehicle body with motor, vehicle wheels, support wheel and battery panel pre-installed, H-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, line-tracking map, Gravity HUSKYLENS, micro:bit V2 board and Type-C & Micro 2-in-1 USB cable. Batteries are not included.

It works with the micro:bit ecosystem and supports beginner-friendly programming through Mind+ and MakeCode. The HUSKYLENS sensor opens up AI vision projects such as object tracking, face recognition and colour detection.

Features:

  • No complex assembly required, ready to start quickly
  • Multiple expansion interfaces: 3.3V IO ×7, 5V IO ×3, I2C ×3
  • Five line‑tracking sensors with flexible programming
  • Larger chassis structure supports additional modules and expansion kits
  • Two power options available: AA battery version or rechargeable 18650 battery version
  • Compatible with HUSKYLENS AI vision sensor for visual recognition projects
  • Integrated peripherals: IR receiver, LED headlights, RGB ambient lights, buzzer, and ultrasonic sensor
  • Frosted acrylic bottom protective plate for enhanced durability
  • Deeper storage box design provides space for the assembled robot

Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 18650 Lithium Battery (3.6V or 3.7V) ×1, onboard charging circuit, MicroUSB and Type‑C charging interfaces, approximately 4 hours full charge
  • Compatibility: Compatible with micro:bit V1 and V2
  • Motor: N20 All‑metal Gear Motor ×2
  • Buzzer: Buzzer ×1
  • 5V IO: 5V IO (P0, P1, P2) ×3
  • 3.3V IO: 3.3V IO (P0, P1, P2, P8, P12, P13, P14, P15)
  • 3.3V I2C: 3.3V I2C ×2

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
LED
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, the three primary colours of light that are mixed in varying amounts to make a wide range of colours. In electronics RGB can refer to an LED or pixel that blends these three colours, or to a colour signal or interface that carries separate red, green and blue channels.
SR04 ultrasonic module
An SR04 ultrasonic module is a distance sensor that sends out a short sound pulse and measures the echo returning from an object. It matters because it lets a robot detect obstacles or measure distance without touching anything.
Type-C
USB Type-C (USB-C) is a small, reversible USB connector used for charging, power, and data transfer on many modern devices. A Type-C port or plug indicates the cable and charger connection needed to power, charge, or communicate with a device.
Ultrasonic module
An ultrasonic module measures distance by sending out high-frequency sound pulses and timing their echo. It is commonly used for obstacle detection and simple range-finding projects, but it needs a clear path to the target.
