This JST SH compatible cable features 1 mm pitch 3-pin connectors on both ends, making it ideal for chaining boards together or connecting to debug ports. It's perfect for use with NeoPixel JST breakout boards, UPDI programmers, or any board with a JST SH 3-pin connector for simple digital or analogue I/O.
The cable also works with the debug port on a Raspberry Pi Pico WH or dedicated debug probes. Note that the wire colours match as follows for debug use:
- White – SWCLK or UART TX
- Red – Ground
- Black – SWDIO or UART RX
Key Features
- 1 mm Pitch JST SH Connectors – Compatible plug on both ends
- 3-Pin Configuration – Suitable for simple digital and analogue connections
- Plug-to-Plug Design – Chain boards together without soldering
Ideal For
- Connecting JST SH breakout boards
- Debug port connections on Raspberry Pi Pico
- Chaining sensor or LED boards with JST SH connectors
Package Contents
- 1× JST SH compatible 1 mm pitch 3-pin plug-to-plug cable

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout is a small circuit board that makes a tiny or hard-to-solder component easier to connect to with standard pins. It matters because this OLED module can be wired into a microcontroller project without needing to solder directly to the display’s fine contacts.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
- NeoPixel
- A type of addressable LED system where colour data is sent along a single digital data line from one LED or controller to the next. Compatibility matters because the timing and signal format must match for the lights or driver board to respond correctly.
- UART
- UART is a simple serial connection that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, often labelled TX and RX. It matters because this module is designed to replace a wired UART cable with a wireless link while keeping the same serial data format.
