This compact digital anemometer measures air velocity for embedded electronics and intelligent control systems. It is built around the Posifa PAV3015D thermal sensing element, using temperature differences across a thermopile structure to calculate airflow without mechanical moving parts.

The board covers a 0–15 m/s measurement range with ±5% F.S accuracy and a 125 ms response time, making it useful for real-time airflow monitoring in cooling, HVAC, environmental sensing and UAV applications.

DFRobot’s Gravity I2C interface keeps wiring simple, and the 3.3V–5V supply range suits common controllers including Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi. The package includes the Gravity: PAV3015 Air Velocity Sensor and a Gravity 4-pin sensor cable.

Features:

  • Solid-state thermal airflow sensing technology without moving mechanical parts
  • Wide air velocity measurement range: 0–15 m/s
  • High measurement accuracy of ±5% F.S
  • Fast response time of 125 ms for real-time airflow monitoring
  • Gravity I2C interface for simplified wiring and integration
  • Compatible with Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi controllers
  • Low operating current of only 10 mA
  • Compact structure suitable for embedded systems and portable devices

Specifications:

  • Supply Voltage: 3.3–5V
  • Operating Temperature: -25 to +85 ℃
  • Operating Humidity: 0–100% R.H. (non-condensing)
  • Operating Current: 10 mA
  • Response Time: 125 ms
  • Measurement Range: 0–15 m/s
  • Accuracy: ±5% F.S

Suitable for data centre cooling checks, smart HVAC airflow measurement, drone airspeed detection, portable environmental instruments and battery-powered airflow devices.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

ESP32
ESP32 is a family of microcontroller modules with built-in wireless features such as Bluetooth and WiFi. Knowing this product uses an ESP32-based module helps explain how it provides wireless serial communication and firmware update features.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
UAV
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, such as a drone or autonomous aircraft. The term matters here because high-accuracy GNSS and RTK are often used when a flying robot needs precise position information.
