The GPS Shield is based on the u-blox NEO-6M receiver module and plugs directly into Arduino UNO, Mega, and compatible boards. It provides GPS positioning data via a serial port connection (pins configurable to D0–D7) and includes a micro SD card slot for data logging.

An active IPC antenna is included for high receive sensitivity, and the shield supports both 3.3 V and 5 V logic levels for broad Arduino compatibility.
