This ultra-compact particulate matter sensor breakout is built around the Bosch BMV080 sensing unit, using laser-based light scattering with a fanless measurement principle. It can monitor PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 mass concentrations while avoiding the noise, dust build-up and mechanical wear associated with fan-driven air sensors.
The board is designed for space-constrained and battery-powered projects, with a tiny 24×20 mm footprint, low sleep current and support for both I2C and SPI communication. The breakout exposes the necessary pins through a 2.54-7P pin header socket and includes mounting holes for fitting it into enclosures, portable monitors, IoT nodes or HVAC prototypes.
It ships with the Fermion BMV080 PM2.5 Air Quality Sensor ×1 and a 10pin-2.54 Black Single Row Pin Header ×1. Supplier documentation includes a product wiki, schematic diagram, dimensions and component location diagram, 3D_STP, 2D_CAD and the BMV080 chip data sheet.
