These dLUX-dLITE succulent-shaped LEDs from Unexpected Labs are handcrafted decorative LEDs that look like tiny succulents when lit. Each LED is individually made, giving every piece a unique appearance — perfect for nature-themed electronics projects, decorative PCBs, and miniature terrariums.

The semi-diffused resin construction shows off fine detail, especially when driven at slightly lower brightness with a higher-value current-limiting resistor than you would typically use for a standard LED.

Key Features

  • Succulent Shape – Handcrafted decorative LED resembling a miniature succulent plant
  • Semi-Diffused – Soft glow that highlights the sculpted detail
  • Handmade – Each LED is unique in appearance
  • Standard LED Pinout – Drop-in replacement for standard through-hole LEDs

Specifications

  • Colour – Yellow (590–595 nm)
  • Forward Voltage – 2.0–2.2 V
  • Forward Current – 20 mA
  • Brightness – 2000–3000 mcd
  • Dimensions (approx.) – 8.5 × 10.2 × 11.2 mm (H × W × D)

Ideal For

  • Decorative and nature-themed PCB builds
  • Miniature terrariums and dioramas
  • Craft and art electronics projects
  • LED collectors

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
PCB
A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
through-hole
A mounting style where the component leads pass through holes in a circuit board and are soldered on the other side. Through-hole parts are often easier to handle and solder by hand, which is useful for classroom and hobby projects.
Torque
A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
