Sing for the moment! The DFPlayer Mini is a small and low cost MP3 module player with an simplified output directly to the speaker. The module can be used as a stand alone module with attached battery, speaker and push buttons or used in combination with an Arduino UNO or any other with RX/TX capabilities.

The DFPlayer perfectly integrates hard decoding module, which supports common audio formats such as MP3, WAV and WMA. Besides, it also supports TF card with FAT16, FAT32 file system. Through a simple serial port, you can play the designated music without any other tedious underlying operations.

DAC: A digital-to-analogue converter turns numbers from the microcontroller into a real analogue voltage. It matters if you want to generate simple waveforms, audio-style signals, or variable control voltages rather than just on/off outputs.
dynamic range: Dynamic range describes how wide a span of values a sensor can measure, from very low to very high. For a light sensor, a wide dynamic range means it can work in dim indoor settings as well as bright sunlight without changing hardware.
RX: RX means receive, usually showing data being received by the board. An RX indicator LED can help with troubleshooting USB or serial communication.
TX: TX means transmit, usually showing data being sent from the board. A TX indicator LED can help you see when the board is communicating or uploading code.

Works with some fiddling

It works, but using it to drive a small speaker needed some fiddling. It didn’t work with a 4 ohm speaker, 8 ohm was better. I found putting a small resistor in series with the speaker was necessary to stop it having playback issues. It is also quite sensitive to power supply, so capacitors over the power supply pins help avoid issues. Using the line-out or headphone output was more reliable out of the box. Arduino library is good, had no trouble playing mp3 files from an SD card.
