These plastic gearbox motors, also known as TT motors, are a simple and affordable way to get a small robot or wheeled project moving.
This DC gearbox motor uses a 1:48 gear ratio and includes pre-attached wires with breadboard-friendly 0.1" male connectors, making it easy to plug into a breadboard or terminal block while prototyping.
It runs from 3VDC to 6VDC, with higher voltages giving higher speed. These are basic motors with no built-in encoders, speed control or positional feedback, so use a separate feedback system if your project needs precision movement.
You cannot drive this motor directly from a microcontroller; a high-current motor driver is required. A DRV8833 motor driver is a good match down to 3V, while a TB6612 can also be used if you supply at least 4.5V.

- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.

- A terminal block is a connector that joins wires together in a neat, removable, or serviceable way, usually clamping each wire under a screw or spring instead of soldering. It makes it easier to connect, change, or service wiring without permanent joints.
