Stranded NeoPixel dots are perfect for adding individual points of colour to costumes, wearables, and decorations without the rigidity of a PCB strip. Each strand contains 20 individually addressable NeoPixel LEDs enclosed in small weatherproof plastic buttons, spaced 4 inches (10 cm) apart. Also available with 2-inch spacing for denser dot patterns.

Each dot has plastic hooks moulded into the back for tack-sewing onto fabric. The flexible wire cabling between dots allows natural movement, and the wider 4-inch spacing covers more area with fewer LEDs — ideal for spread-out decorative effects.

Key Features

  • 20 NeoPixel Dots – Individually addressable RGB LEDs in small plastic enclosures
  • 4-Inch (10 cm) Spacing – Wider spacing for spread-out lighting effects across larger areas
  • Sewable Design – Built-in plastic hooks for tack-sewing onto fabric or structures
  • Weatherproof Buttons – Each dot is enclosed in a protective plastic housing (not submersible)
  • Flexible Wiring – Wire strand between dots allows bending and movement without damage
  • Chainable – Add more strands or disconnect unwanted dots at the end
  • Single-Pin Control – Built-in PWM controller in each LED maintains colour without continuous data

Wiring

  • Red Wire – +5V power
  • Middle Wire – Data
  • Edge Wire – Ground
Tip: Small markings on the dots indicate the input side (male pin connector end). If unsure, try both ends — one direction will work.

Ideal For

  • Costumes and cosplay lighting
  • Wearable electronics and fashion tech
  • Holiday and decorative lighting across larger areas
  • Embedding into models, props, and structures

Package Contents

  • 1× NeoPixel LED Dots Strand – 20 LEDs at 4" pitch

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
NeoPixel
A type of addressable LED system where colour data is sent along a single digital data line from one LED or controller to the next. Compatibility matters because the timing and signal format must match for the lights or driver board to respond correctly.
PCB
A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
PWM
Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, the three primary colours of light that are mixed in varying amounts to make a wide range of colours. In electronics RGB can refer to an LED or pixel that blends these three colours, or to a colour signal or interface that carries separate red, green and blue channels.
