A 5-megapixel night vision camera module for Raspberry Pi, complete with two infrared LED boards for clear imaging in low-light and dark environments. Based on the OmniVision OV5647 sensor, it connects directly to the Raspberry Pi's CSI camera port and features an adjustable focus ring for fine-tuning image sharpness at different distances.
The included IR LED boards use photoresistors to detect ambient light levels and automatically switch the infrared illumination on or off, so the camera adapts seamlessly between day and night conditions.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
- Torque
- A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
