The 5.8GHz Microwave Radar Module is a high-sensitivity motion detection sensor that transmits and receives 5.8GHz electromagnetic waves. By analysing the difference between transmitted and reflected signals, it reliably detects movement within its detection zone.
Unlike traditional PIR sensors that only respond to large body movements, this FMCW/CW microwave radar can detect subtle motion such as breathing, making it capable of true human presence detection — even when a person is sitting still or sleeping. Results are output via UART serial or digital I/O level.
