An all-in-one development board combining an ATmega32U4 microcontroller with an A9G GPRS/GSM/GPS module. Capable of making voice calls, sending SMS text messages, and providing GPS positioning — all controllable via AT commands over serial. The board includes analogue, I2C, and digital expansion interfaces for connecting additional sensors and modules.

The A9G module supports quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) for worldwide 2G network compatibility, GPRS Class 10 data, and GPS positioning with less than 2.5m horizontal accuracy. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included for voice audio.

Key Features

  • ATmega32U4 + A9G – Arduino-compatible MCU with integrated GSM/GPRS/GPS
  • Voice, SMS, and Data – Make calls, send texts, and transfer data over GPRS
  • GPS Positioning – Less than 2.5m horizontal accuracy
  • Quad-Band GSM – 850/900/1800/1900 MHz for global 2G coverage
  • 3.5mm Audio Jack – For voice calls with headset
  • Low Standby Current – ~3mA or less in standby

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

baud
Baud is the signalling rate of a serial connection, often used as the speed setting for UART communication. Matching the baud rate matters because both connected devices must use the same setting for readable data.
GPS
The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
IoT
Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
