This 2×20 pin tall female header extends the reach of any board with a standard 40-pin GPIO layout, including the Raspberry Pi, Google Coral, and NVIDIA Jetson. At 16 mm tall with standard 0.1″ (2.54 mm) spacing, it provides significant clearance for stacking boards or fitting into enclosures.
Can also be soldered directly onto Pi HATs that don't come with headers pre-installed, provided the board components don't interfere with the header height.
Key Features
- 40-Pin (2×20) – Standard GPIO header footprint
- 16 mm Tall – Extra height for stacking and enclosure clearance
- 2.54 mm Pitch – Standard 0.1″ pin spacing
- Female Socket – Plugs over male GPIO pins
Compatibility
- Raspberry Pi (all 40-pin models)
- Google Coral
- NVIDIA Jetson
- Any board with a 2×20 GPIO pin header
Ideal For
- Extending GPIO reach for stacking multiple boards
- Soldering headers onto HATs without pre-installed connectors
- Projects requiring tall female headers for enclosure clearance
Package Contents
- 1× 2×20 pin tall female GPIO header (16 mm)
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- GPIO
- General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
- Headers
- Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
