A 16mm illuminated pushbutton with a built-in red LED and momentary action. The switch contacts connect only while the button is held down and return to their normally-open state when released — perfect for trigger inputs, action buttons, and interactive controls.

The LED is wired independently from the switch contacts, giving you full control over when the light is on. You can have it light up when pressed, when not pressed, or keep it always lit — whatever suits your project. The LED has a forward voltage of approximately 2.2V; connect a 220–1000Ω resistor in series when using a 3V or higher supply.

Key Features

  • Momentary Action – Normally open; contacts connect only while pressed
  • Built-In Red LED – Independently controlled from the switch for flexible indicator options
  • 4 Contacts – Two for the switch, two for the LED (marked + and −)
  • 16mm Panel Mount – Medium-sized button, easy to press without being bulky
  • Black Plastic Body – Clean look with red illuminated face

Ideal For

  • Project enclosures and control panels
  • Trigger and action buttons
  • Emergency alert or stop inputs
  • Arduino and microcontroller input projects

Package Contents

  • 1× 16mm Red Illuminated Momentary Pushbutton
Tip: This button is also available in blue, green, yellow, and white. Need a toggle instead? See the Red Latching On/Off version.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
